Stripmall Architecture

About Stripmall Architecture

Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom have built up a remarkable body of material and worked with a wide range of iconoclastic artists including DJ Shadow (on his infamous Radiohead remix), Low, UNKLE, Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie, John Cale, and legendary producer/engineer John Fryer (This Mortal Coil, Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins).

In 2009, Stripmall Architecture released We Were Flying Kites, a bold debut that was “an impressive step forward” (John Richards, KEXP) and quickly gained support from indie radio including heavyweights KCRW and KEXP. Despite its relatively quiet release, the album made a solid splash and set the band on their way.

In 2009, the band engaged their fans online and launched one of the earliest music projects on Kickstarter, a crowdsourcing platform that allowed fans of the band to fully fund the second album.

In early 2010, Stripmall Architecture released part one of the new album, Feathersongs for Factory Girls, which was has been hailed by everyone from CMJ to Laughing Squid. iTunes Indie Spotlight showcased lead single Radium Girls as a don't-miss track and Indiefeed, where a huge chunk of the internet finds out about new music, recommended it as well. It's been a good year.

The band is set to release their next single and the second half of the Feathersongs For Factory Girls album later this year. First though, they are enjoying the tremendous buzz generated by their off-the-cuff cover of LCD Soundsystem's "Drunk Girls" and anticipating the release of Rebecca's collaboration with UK heavyweights, UNKLE.

Stripmall Architecture regularly plays to sold-out crowds in San Francisco and is available for festivals and touring. More dates to be announced soon.
